PSB Speakers Announces Long-Term Partnership With Rugby Canada

Canadian premium brand, PSB Speakers, becomes the official performance audio partner of Rugby Canada.

PSB Speakers has announced today a multi-year marketing and merchandising partnership that will make the iconic Canadian audio company the official headphone, speaker, and performance audio partner of Rugby Canada. This unprecedented partnership is Rugby Canada’s first-ever high-performance audio partner and PSB Speakers’ first partnership with a world-renowned sports association.

The new three-year marketing and product partnership will focus on PSB Speakers’ world-leading M4U performance headphones. The Senior National Men’s and Women’s Fifteens and Sevens Teams will be outfitted with PSB M4U headphone kits to better the players’ athletic experience with enhanced music—on tour and in training. PSB’s headphones and audio products will also be featured at Rugby Canada events across Canada and integrated into Rugby Canada’s national marketing programs.

“As a premium audio brand known globally for developing some of the best audio products in the industry, we are delighted to welcome PSB to the Rugby Canada family,” said Mark Lemmon, Rugby Canada Chief Marketing Officer. “This partnership showcases the momentum of growth in the sport of rugby across Canada and demonstrates Rugby Canada’s continued ability to attract leading performance brands that are aligned with our values.”

“The core values of PSB and Rugby Canada are synergistic,” said Gord Simmonds, President and CEO of PSB Speakers’ parent company, The Lenbrook Group. “Both PSB and Rugby Canada seek to attain higher levels of performance, consistency, and passion in their respective fields of music and sport. As a proud Canadian company, we’re excited to elevate the Rugby Canada audio experience for players and their fans around the world—in their game prep, in their homes, or on the go.”

PSB Speakers will grow its presence at Rugby Canada events throughout the year, beginning next month and leading up to the 2015 IRB Rugby World Cup in England in September. By recognizing the convergence of music, sports, and technology, PSB and Rugby Canada want to connect Canadians of all ages to the excitement and passion of rugby and music through grassroots marketing programs to engage and inspire higher performance rugby and music listening across the nation.

Rugby Canada is the national governing body of the sport of rugby union in Canada. Rugby Football has a long history in Canada dating back to its initial appearance in the 1860s.  Since 1964, Rugby Canada has been a permanent fixture on the global rugby scene, including trips to each of the seven Rugby World Cups.  As a regular on the World Rugby Sevens Circuit, Canada continues to climb the world rankings and challenge the dominant rugby nations both versions of the game.

To support the growth of rugby at the grassroots level, and to ensure there are elite programs for prospering young rugby players to become involved with, Rugby Canada has put an emphasis on developing its junior programs.  Our goal is to develop and train a competitive team for the Toronto 2015 Pan American Games and the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Rugby Canada continues to be a world leader in the development of women’s rugby.  Currently the women’s team at the national, club and high school levels are flourishing all across the country.
